The Geneva Centre of Humanitarian Studies (GCHS), the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and Science Practice are conducting this study on behalf of Elrha to explore sexual and reproductive health (SRH) innovations in humanitarian settings. As part of the research, they are interested in a wide array of innovations including, but not limited to, new or significant adaptations to products, technologies, services, delivery methods, processes, approaches or policies that address important problems in humanitarian SRH.

Planning for Comprehensive Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) in Crisis-Affected Settings
IAWG, UNFPA, WHO, Global Health ClusterProviding comprehensive sexual and reproductive health (SRH) care to all, including those affected by crises, is an overarching goal of the health sector. However, during a crisis, SRH services that are more critical in preventing death and illness are often prioritized over others. These priority lifesaving SRH interventions are bundled into what is known as the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for SRH. The MISP, which is a global standard in humanitarian response, has six objectives and one additional priority. Objective six of the MISP consists of planning for comprehensive SRH services that are integrated into primary health care as soon as possible. Over the years, implementing this planning process has proven to be a challenge. The objective of this toolkit is to provide a step-by-step guide for SRH coordinators, or staff with equivalent responsibilities, to facilitate an in-country workshop to catalyze participatory planning among stakeholders and partners.
Facilitator's Guide
IAWG, UNFPA, WHO, Global Health ClusterThis toolkit enables facilitators to foster a systematic, engaging, interactive, and inclusive planning process among participants over a two-day workshop. Five key steps move workshop participants towards developing a shared work plan with consensus around priority activities for transitioning from MISP to comprehensive SRH services while strengthening the health system in settings affected by crises.

Participant Workbook
IAWG, UNFPA, WHO, Global Health ClusterThis workbook supports those who are being trained to facilitate planning workshops by guiding them through the participatory planning workshop and process. For this reason, it is built into the toolkit. Though originally created in response to COVID-19 restrictions, the training strategy and this workbook can be adapted and used in other contexts where travel is severely limited.

Interactive PowerPoint Presentation
IAWG, UNFPA, WHO, Global Health ClusterThis PowerPoint covers the following topics: MISP and comprehensive SRH services, and what it means to integrate comprehensive SRH, services into primary health care, Definitions of quality SRH services, health system building blocks, Current national or subnational SRH situation.
Below, please find a list of templates included in the annex of the facilitator's guide and participant workbook.
