The community-based association offers continuous and dignified SRH care through a network of static clinics, mobile clinics, and community-based sites in Venezuela, including along the border with Colombia, reaching women and girls on their migratory routes. Plafam offers testing for sexually transmitted infections and diseases, routine gynecological care, psychosocial support, and harm and risk reduction models for unsafe abortion. The association also provides low- to no-cost contraceptives, which proves particularly significant in a country where contraceptive supply access and affordability remain key barriers to uptake. Plafam’s focus on continuity of SRH care, particularly during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, provides essential care for the communities who need it.
