Unit 7: Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Overview

This unit describes the health care provider’s role in the implementation of SOPs and how SOPs can improve access to care.

Objectives

By the end of this unit, participants will:

  • Describe the health care provider’s role in the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Discuss how SOPs can improve access to care.

Timing & Methodology

Total: 30 minutes, Facilitator Presentation and Group Discussion

Preparation

  • Print, download, and gather materials
  • Find out if SOPs are already in place. Print copies of the site SOPs and adapt the presentation to match. If no SOPs exist, then go through this presentation and brainstorm on how to initiate discussions on the process with the GBV coordinator
