The Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Clinical Outreach Refresher Trainings (S-CORTs) are a series of training materials specifically designed for SRH service providers working in crisis-affected contexts. Each training covers a select set of lifesaving skills that contribute to the objectives of the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for SRH in Emergencies.
The adaptable materials are designed for use by clinical trainers conducting brief, face-to-face workshops. Each training package includes the following components:
Where possible, training should be incorporated into broader capacity-strengthening strategies, ongoing quality improvement activities, and existing curricula. When the situation allows, they can be used as part of emergency preparedness, response. They can be used in recovery efforts, based on an assessment of opportunities and needs.
The S-CORTs were developed by the IAWG Training Partnership Initiative and its partners.
These materials are designed for use by clinical trainers conducting brief face-to-face refresher training workshops on the key components of basic emergency obstetric and newborn care. The target audience for this training is health care providers working in crisis settings who are currently attending or will attend births and who meet the participant prerequisites.
These materials are designed for use by clinical trainers conducting brief introductory or refresher face-to-face training workshops on care for survivors of sexual violence. The target audience for this training is health care providers working in crisis settings when supplies to manage cases of sexual violence are available and who meet the participant prerequisites.
These materials are designed for use by clinical trainers conducting brief refresher face-to-face training workshops on providing long-acting reversible contraceptive (LARC) services and family planning counseling, particularly in crisis settings or with limited resources. The target audience for this training is health care providers already familiar with LARCs, including insertion and removal of intrauterine devices (IUDs) and implants.
These materials are designed for use by clinical trainers conducting brief face-to-face refresher training workshops on uterine evacuation with manual vacuum aspiration. The target audience for this training is health care workers who will provide first-trimester uterine evacuation in crisis settings and meet the participant prerequisites. The training can be delivered as a stand-alone course or combined with the Uterine Evacuations in Crisis Settings Using Medication module.
These materials are designed for use by clinical trainers conducting brief introductory or refresher face-to-face training workshops on uterine evacuation with medications. The target audience for these trainings are health care workers who will provide first-trimester uterine evacuation in crisis settings and meet the participant prerequisites. The training can be delivered as a stand-alone course or combined with the Uterine Evacuations in Crisis Settings Using Manual Vacuum Aspiration module.
These materials are designed for use by clinical trainers conducting brief face-to-face refresher training workshops on uterine evacuation with medications and manual vacuum aspiration (MVA). The target audience for these trainings is healthcare workers who will provide first-trimester uterine evacuation in crisis settings and have previous experience with intrauterine procedures including MVA.
