Overview

The Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (ASRHR) Sub-Working Group is a dedicated group of IAWG members who set the priorities and objectives of the research, implementation, and best practices for adolescent sexual and reproductive health in humanitarian settings.

Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in Emergency Settings

Video

In partnership with two youth leaders, we developed this educational video on the needs and barriers adolescents faced when accessing sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services. In this video, we discuss the capacities of adolescents and opportunities for humanitarian organizations to work with adolescents to improve SRH information and service provision. The video complements the sub-working group’s ASRH in Emergencies fact sheet and will soon be available with Arabic, French, and Spanish subtitles.

Priority Objectives

Increase programs that address adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights (ASRHR) in humanitarian settings by advocating ASRH activities be included across all sub-working groups' and partner's programming and when working with development actors and donors.
Engage adolescents with Inter-Agency Working Group (IAWG) on Reproductive Health in Crises and partner agencies' programming to build their capacity to develop and implement programs. Work with adolescents to co-design, collaborate, and partner on adolescent-inclusion in advocacy, programming, research, and monitoring and evaluation.
Build IAWG and partner agency capacity on ASRHR by developing master trainers for ASRHR and sharing upcoming trainings, existing tools, and best practices.

Current members of the adolescent sexual and reproductive health sub-working group can ask to join the Google Group to attend meetings, share documents, and learn more about the goals and ongoing efforts. Please note, only IAWG members at the steering or associate level may participate in Sub-Working Groups and must be accepted before they can access the Google Group. You must be logged in via a Google Account.
