IAWG is powered by the volunteer efforts of our members through their participation on leadership bodies and thematic working groups and task teams.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee (EC) is the highest governing body of IAWG. It provides broad guidance, oversight, and approvals to support IAWG operations. The EC’s responsibilities fall into four main categories: strategy, operations, financial oversight and performance monitoring.

The Executive Committee comprises 7-9 non-permanent seats. Executive Committee members are nominated by IAWG members and agree to serve a two-year term, renewable for an additional two-years.

Technical Oversight Committee

The Technical Oversight Committee (TOC) provides strategic input and support to the Secretariat and sub-working groups and offers technical, operational, programmatic, country and/or regional expertise and recommendations. The TOC’s responsibilities fall into three main categories: expert advice and support, operations and performance monitoring. The TOC comprises up to 13 non-permanent seats. The term of office for a TOC member is two years, renewable for an additional two years. The nomination process for membership in the inaugural TOC for 2026-2028 will open in November, 2025.

Sub-Working Groups and TaskTeams

IAWG membership is open to both organizations and individuals committed to advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights in humanitarian settings. The volunteer efforts of our members is the backbone of IAWG’s work. Members lead and contribute to priority activities under our five-year strategic plan through participation in thematic sub-working groups and task-teams.
