These materials are designed for use by clinical trainers conducting brief face-to-face refresher training workshops on uterine evacuation with manual vacuum aspiration. The target audience for this training is health care workers who will provide first-trimester uterine evacuation in crisis settings and meet the participant prerequisites. The training can be delivered as a stand-alone course or combined with the Uterine Evacuations in Crisis Settings Using Medication module.

Infirmiers en Action dans le Milieu Rural (IAMR), which translates to Nurses in Action in Rural Areas, works to serve the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) needs in rural, displaced communities in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), a region with ongoing conflict and political instability. IAMR’s CEO, Benson Ahmed Hussein, said that the small community-based organization offers a range of SRH services, from contraceptive counseling to delivery kit provisions in local maternity wards. The Department of Sociomedical Sciences at the Mailman School of Public Health seeks a full-time Program Coordinator to assist with a range of programmatic, research, and communications activities focused on addressing the puberty and menstrual health and hygiene needs of low-income populations around the world. The Program Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the GATE (Gender, Adolescent Transitions, and the Environment) Program’s puberty portfolio of work, including the development and dissemination of puberty education books, coordinating new research activities, and the development of communications materials, social media outputs, and research articles.
In 2018 and 2019, the Women’s Refugee Commission (WRC) undertook exploratory qualitative research on sexual violence against men and boys (including those with diverse sexual orientations and/or gender identity/expression) in three refugee settings: Bangladesh (Cox’s Bazar), Italy, and urban Kenya. During the data collection process, in-country partners were identified to pilot projects to support uptake of sexual violence services for male and LGBTQ+ survivors. This report presents a synthesis of the key learnings from the pilots and outlines top recommendations.
