Overview

This unit discusses issues that contribute to the mistreatment of women and newborns and the concept of respectful maternity care as a component of quality care.

Objectives

By the end of this unit, participants will be able to:

Discuss issues that contribute to the mistreatment of women and newborns.
Share examples of mistreatment.
Explain the concept of respectful maternity care as a component of quality care.
