“Midwives are Heroes of the Country”: A mixed methods study on International Medical Corps-supported midwifery education in South Sudan
International Medical CorpsIn collaboration with the Reproductive Health Access, Information and Services in Emergencies (RAISE) Initiative at Columbia University, International Medical Corps conducted a cross-sectional mixed-methods evaluation of the midwifery education program to determine its strengths and weaknesses in 2022. The evaluation sought to understand perceptions of midwife graduates and their current supervisors, key stakeholders and South Sudanese women who received care from midwifery school graduates.
Contraception and Abortion in Times of Crisis: Results from an Online Survey of Venezuelan Women

Through an online survey in July 2020 among Venezuelan women, the researchers set out to describe Venezuelan women's experiences accessing sexual and reproductive health services, including abortion, which is heavily restricted by law. It found that Venezuela is a harsh context with limited access to sexual and reproductive health services.
Mitigating Risk of GBV in Cash Assistance in Humanitarian Settings: M&E Indicators and Guidance Note
UNFPA and the Global Women's InstituteIn 2022, UNFPA and the Global Women's Institute launched a collaboration to examine gender-based violence (GBV) risk in relation to cash assistance. This collaboration resulted in an indicators guide that offers proxy indicators for use by non-GBV specialists, such as cash, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), or sectoral/program actors, for assessing GBV risks to women in cash interventions. The accompanying case study explores the findings and implications of the operational field research conducted in Iraq and Colombia to inform the development of these indicators.
