This advocacy document urges the incorporation of women’s and girls’ access to essential and rights-fulfilling sexual and reproductive health services during the COVID-19 public health response. It includes a detailed set of policy recommendations extensively reviewed and validated by IAWG technical experts, policy specialists, and operational agencies working on the front-lines of the COVID-19 response.

Building on the overarching need for humanitarian actors to coordinate and plan to ensure that sexual and reproductive health is integrated into the pandemic preparedness and response, there are four prongs on how to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on mortality and morbidity due to sexual and reproductive health conditions in crisis and in fragile settings.
IAWG members and partners are producing clinical and programmatic guidance, assessments, policy papers, and statements to ensure continued prioritization of sexual and reproductive health and rights throughout COVID-19 response in humanitarian settings.
