2020 IAWG Priorities

  • Launch a secretariat for the Accelerating Newborn Health in Humanitarian Settings Initiative
    to fast-track preparedness and response efforts to scale up good quality maternal and newborn health care, and improve newborn health and well-being in humanitarian and fragile settings
  • Continue to strengthen adolescent-friendly programming in emergencies in collaboration with the Inter-agency Adolescent SRH Advisor and the IAWG ASRH sub-working group
  • Conduct two additional workshops in Syria and Niger of the Training Partnership Initiative’s MISP to comprehensive SRH participatory planning toolkit
  • Finalize the uterine evacuation in crisis settings using medications and LARC S-CORTS
  • Launch redesigned IAWG website
  • Continue to advocate for strengthened SRHR in emerging and ongoing emergencies worldwide

IAWG members and partners are producing clinical and programmatic guidance, assessments, policy papers, and statements to ensure continued prioritization of sexual and reproductive health and rights throughout COVID-19 response in humanitarian settings.
