Overview

Several crises unfolding in July and August 2021 have deepened humanitarian needs and crises in Haiti. Recent political instability and violence, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake, Tropical Storm Grace, and rising COVID-19 rates exacerbate existing humanitarian needs for communities in Haiti.

IAWG recognizes that field-level organizations are positioned to serve the communities they know best, particularly as multiple and intersecting crises unfold, and takes this opportunity to amplify the work of the following CBOs:

  • Haiti Adolescent Girls Network (HAGN) operates safe, girl-only spaces for adolescent girls from ages 10-24 and offers social, health, and economic programming designed to enable Haitian girls to reach their full potential.1
  • Profamil operates a network of static and mobile health clinics and education centers, serving the SRH needs of the in-need communities in Haiti. Profamil has a history of organizing rapid response after natural disasters, including the 2010 earthquake and Hurricane Matthew in 2016.2
