Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) coordination architecture is quite different from the one classically managing humanitarian response. Under the leadership and the coordination of the Ministry of Public Health, EVD response is structured in pillars. Cluster approach, activated in Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) since 2006, was not implemented in the ongoing EVD response. As shown in the attached documents, EVD was not always the main topic during the health cluster and sexual reproducitve health (SRH) sub-working groups (SWG) meetings in the North-Kivu and Ituri provinces. Indeed, the cluster coordination system and the EVD response coordination mechanisms were functioning in parallel with limited to no interaction with each other.
