Women and Rural Development Network (WORUDET)

Women and Rural Development Network (WORUDET) is a women’s rights organization founded in 2003 to respond to the development needs of women and girls. WORUDET is working with a cross section of the community to address gender equality with specific focus on SRHR, gender-based violence, women’s economic empowerment, women’s leadership, conflict prevention and Peaceful co-existence. WORUDET currently operates in Lamwo District inclusive of Palabek Refugee settlement and the surrounding host community, as well as Pader and Agago districts in East Acholi. WORUDET employs a variety of innovative SRHR awareness and service accountability strategies including SRHR community advocacy teams, Male Action Groups, community dialogues and SRHR mentorship for community leadership.
