The Accelerating Choice, Equity, and Sustainability for Services (ACCESS) project launched at the end of September 2024. Funded by USAID, this five-year initiative aims to expand equitable access to high-quality FP/RH services for underserved and marginalized populations through locally led, sustainable, gender-transformative, and youth-responsive solutions that address systemic barriers. ACCESS will work across a variety of contexts in low- and middle-income countries, including at the humanitarian-development nexus and in settings with weakened health systems to help improve access to high-quality, integrated, equitable, and respectful family planning and reproductive health.
The Healthy Newborn Network (HNN) is thrilled to present its brand-new platform! Featuring a modern look, the redesigned website contains a refined resource library, a comprehensive data visualization tool and database, and a home for global experiences and stories in its blog. The website features content to include key health topics that affect newborns, mothers, and the families and communities that care for them; this includes resources and information that affect the health and well-being of newborns, their mothers, and caregivers.
To mark International Women's Day, AlignMNH in partnership with the IAWG Newborn Initiative interviewed three healthcare providers with experience working in fragile and crisis-affected contexts about the intersection of gender-based violence and maternal and newborn care.
In humanitarian settings, self-care offers an opportunity to ensure access to essential SRH services, even amidst a strained health system. This blog, written by IAWG members, discusses the need for self-care for SRH in humanitarian settings.
The Youth Alliance for Reproductive Health, Democratic Republic of Congo is collective of Congolese youth dedicated to educating their peers about sexual and reproductive health (SRH). Established in December 2019 and based in Goma, YARH DRC primarily partners with schools to provide peer-to-peer SRH education. Community panels, workshops, and awareness-raising events ground YARH DRC’s work and complement their virtual programming offerings, which were adapted to meet youth’s SRH education needs during COVID-19 lockdowns.
