{"id":384,"date":"2025-10-03T22:57:06","date_gmt":"2025-10-04T02:57:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iawg1.wpenginepowered.com\/?post_type=works&#038;p=384"},"modified":"2026-02-10T18:16:27","modified_gmt":"2026-02-10T23:16:27","slug":"gender-based-violence","status":"publish","type":"works","link":"https:\/\/iawg.net\/ar\/works\/gender-based-violence\/","title":{"rendered":"Gender-Based Violence"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t<p><a href=\"\/our-work\">Our Work<\/a><\/p>\n\t<h1>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/h1>\n\t<p>Preventing gender-based violence (GBV), harmful acts based on a person&#8217;s gender including threats, coercion, and acts of physical, sexual, or mental harm.<\/p>\n\t<p>Prioritizing a survivor&#8217;s rights, needs, and wishes during design and implementation of gender-based violence programming.<\/p>\n\t<p>Supporting the integration of gender-based violence prevention and response elements into a humanitarian response.<\/p>\n\t<p>Advocating legal and cultural abandonment of GBV practices and the protection and support of survivors.<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tImpact\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>Acts of gender-based violence violate a number of universal human rights. Crises can exacerbate existing gender inequalities. The risks of gender-based violence increase in conflict-affected settings, particularly for women and girls.
