Strengthening access to and quality of reproductive health services in humanitarian settings

SRH Clinical Outreach Refresher Trainings for Humanitarian Settings

To update and reinforce trained clinical service providers’ knowledge and skills in select priority life-saving sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services included in the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for Reproductive Health, the IAWG Training Partnership Initiative (TPI) and its partners developed four SRH Clinical Outreach Refresher Trainings (S-CORTs) designed for humanitarian contexts.

The S-CORT series consists of the following modules:

  • Clinical Management of Survivors of Sexual Violence
  • Uterine Evacuation in Crisis Settings Using Manual Vacuum Aspiration
  • Assisted Vaginal Delivery via Vacuum Extraction
  • Basic Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care in Humanitarian Settings: Select Signal Functions

The full training package (facilitator’s guide, PPT presentation, handouts, case studies, etc.) is available on the IAWG-TPI website for free download.

A guidance note for SRH trainers, program managers, and coordinators and budget template are also available to help facilitate the roll-out of these 2-3 day long trainings.
