A Girl No More: The Changing Norms of Child Marriage in Conflict Report

A report released by the Women’s Refugee Commission in March 2016, discusses the impact of conflict on child marriage decisions and provides six recommendations to reduce child marriage practices in humanitarian settings. Areas of recommendation include a greater focus on programs that target child marriage in a variety of sectors, as well as investments in programming for girls to foster their intrinsic importance within communities. These recommendations are targeted towards policy makers, donors, national governments, and programmers, and help draw attention to child brides who are often ignored in humanitarian programming.
