The IAWG developed two redacted documents for use by organizations required to comply with the Trump administration executive action “Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance” (PLGHA). IAWG engaged with key stakeholders, including PLGHA-compliant organizations, to create a redacted Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) reference sheet and redacted Inter-Agency Field Manual (IAFM) on Reproductive Health in Humanitarian Settings that PLGHA-compliant organizations can use and share. These documents can be found below. We have also address some frequently asked questions which are intended to guide organizations’ engagement and implementation of the MISP and IAFM while PLGHA is in place.
Language that could be viewed as non-compliant with PLGHA has been redacted in these documents. These documents retain language about post-abortion care (PAC), contraception, emergency contraception (EC) and safe abortion care (SAC) in cases of rape, incest, or to save the life of the woman, which are always permissible for PLGHA-compliant organizations.
Please note: If the work you are engaged in does not require compliance with PLFGHA, please use the full IAFM.
