This year’s theme, Bridging the Divide: Operationalizing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in the Nexus, asks presenters to share findings and lessons learned from working on SRHR at the intersections of the humanitarian, development and peace sectors. The meeting aims to progress beyond rhetoric around the need for interlinkages across sectors in order to inform actionable next steps for the IAWG community.
The conference will focus on five key themes: Rights and Equity; Localization; Financing; Sustainability; and Cross-sectoral Collaboration. Ideally, abstracts will address one or more of the five themes, but other abstracts which share SRHR findings and lessons learned from working in the nexus will be considered. For further information about this year’s sub-themes, please visit the meeting website.
Abstracts may address research results, effective or innovated programs or interventions, or advocacy and policy across the humanitarian cycle, from preparedness through response and recovery. Please follow the outline and word counts per section noted in the form below. Please ensure you provide sufficient detail for external reviewers to evaluate your work.
Please note: We will also seek ideas for a hands-on demonstration session on innovation. A separate call for individuals to propose topics that are more interactive, such as IEC materials, edutainment, digital health, or HMIS initiatives will be sent out separately.
Selection & Sponsorship
Abstracts should be submitted in English by Friday, 30 August 2019.
Abstracts will be selected for one of several presentation formats at the discretion of the reviewers. The corresponding author will be notified via email of abstract decisions in mid-October. Presenters will be asked to confirm their participation by mid-November.
Apart from a limited number of sponsorships, IAWG is unable to offer financial assistance to attend the annual meeting. Please note that, individuals whose abstracts are selected for presentation will be given preference in the selection process, but we cannot guarantee financial support for all selected presenters.
